3. Is acupuncture safe?
Yes. It is performed by a licensed and experienced practitioner using sterile, single-use needles, acupuncture is very safe.
4. How many sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your condition. Some patients see improvement after 1–2 sessions, while chronic or complex conditions may require several weeks of consistent treatment.
5. What should I expect during my first session?
Your first visit includes a detailed health assessment followed by a personalized acupuncture treatment. You’ll rest comfortably for about 20–40 minutes with the needles in place.
6. Are there any side effects?
Minor bruising, temporary soreness, or fatigue may occur, but serious side effects are rare.
7. Can I combine acupuncture with other treatments?
Absolutely. Acupuncture complements both Western and Eastern medical treatments and is often integrated into broader care plans.
8. Does insurance cover acupuncture?
We do not accept insurance coverage at this time. However, our acupuncture service is covered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for eligible veterans in Augusta, GA and CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) region, under the VA's Whole Health System and Community Care programs.
9. What should I do before my acupuncture appointment?
Eat a light meal beforehand, stay hydrated, and wear loose, comfortable clothing.
10. Is acupuncture only for pain relief?
